Note 23

Some conversations showed me that people sometimes wondered what they were thinking when they made decisions in the past. Honestly, I hardly ever experienced it. But I still need to prepare, right? Just in case this universe tries to surprise me by throwing unnecessary thought.

So, dear my future self, if you read this, these are the reasons for all your younger self’s deeds.

  1. I am decisive. I prefer making wrong decisions to not making decisions at all. (Avatar Roku influences me too much, huh?)
  2. I don’t spend time on regret. I allocate some time to feel bad, but after that I convince myself, “At that time, that was the best thing you could do.”
  3. I think “all opinions matter” sucks. There are a lot of stupid opinions. And some people really need to shut up. I’m trying not to mention the stupid questions. We’ve seen enough at college.
  4. Confidence is not a sin. But not feeling confident when you carry out things out of your expertise is a virtue. Do you get it, Older Lutfi?
  5. I don’t think respect comes automatically with age. I also don’t expect my juniors to respect me for the sake of being older.
  6. I don’t mind confronting people. Learn from history. Restoration of human rights was not achieved by sweet acts of service.
  7. To be criticized by the experts is much better than to be praised by the incompetents.
  8. Interviewing people about their personal lives is not caring. It’s invasion of ones’ privacies.
  9. Wait, who said women should just wait and not make the first move? Scheisse.
  10. Majority of humans are not written in history. So, don’t sacrifice your happiness to be one of those outliers. At the end humankind’s history will also disappear for the sun eventually will swallow the earth.

OK, that’s it. I hope you are happy. Don’t curse me.
