On Us – Part 2

I will always want to write a protracted passage about you, but that doesn’t mean I could not simplify it. You are important because you help me remove the tag from the sentence that has been spinning in my head all this time.

“I deserve love, don’t I?” I don’t care if others cannot relate to this doubt because since you came what was left were only “I deserve love” and “I know I deserve love”.

It becomes even more exciting when I realize it’s not manipulative at all. It’s not that I take advantage of your genuine feelings to make me feel better. I am just experiencing the side effect of being loved by the right person.

You speak the mother tongue of my soul, complete with its accent, so that I don’t need to translate anything. When we talked about what we love from each other, it’s surprising that we mentioned the parts of ourselves most people find hard to deal with.

You are someone with whom I felt neither too much nor inadequate. I am perfectly enough. So, I just want to thank you, for letting me know that the kind of love that makes me far from my true self is just not worth diving into.
